Starting School / Admissions
Nursery
We have a wonderful Nursery of which we are very proud and is an integral part of our school. We accept children from the child’s second birthday. Children can start Nursery in September, January and April (Easter), depending on their age and spaces within the nursery class. This is our Nursery leaflet which will give you further information about our Nursery.
We have places for 24 pupils in the Nursery class in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Nursery admission forms (SA13) & Nursery Information can be collected from the office in the main school and returned to the school administrator. Sacred Heart School is responsible for allocating nursery places and decisions are made in accordance with the Nursery Admission Policy, A place in Nursery does not guarantee a Reception Class place.
For children starting nursery class the class teacher and teaching assistant will make home/school visits.

Reception
Sacred Heart School has places for 30 children in our reception class. For Reception places you will receive a County Application Leaflet re; Starting School September Entry into the Reception Year Group. To apply for a school place you must complete the online application form or the paper equivalent (SA1 ) ‘Admission to Infant / Primary School’). This allows parents to state their preference of school for their child and should be completed by the deadline date in January. Parents will be informed of the outcome in April.
There will be an induction programme for new Reception children. The children will be invited into school during the Summer Term before starting, to meet the other children in their class and to meet the teacher. There will also be a meeting for parents to give the opportunity to ask any questions.

Junior (Class 3 - Class 6)
Sacred Heart School has places for children in our Class 3 - Class 6 (Junior class). For Class 3 - Class 6 you can apply for a school place you must complete the online application form or the paper equivalent (SA2)‘Admission to Infant / Primary School’). This allows parents to state their preference of school for their child and should be completed by the deadline date in January. Parents will be informed of the outcome in April.

deadline date.
